Strengthening Graduate Students’ Awareness of Rights and Responsibilities and Providing Administrative Support Information
On September 10, Korea University Sejong Campus held the 2025 Academic Year RA/TA Orientation at the Nongshim International Building, hosted by the Graduate Research and Education Team. The event was conducted in both online and offline formats, with a total of 104 graduate students in attendance.
The orientation was designed for graduate students appointed as Research Assistants (RA) and Teaching Assistants (TA) for the second semester of the 2025 academic year.
The program covered a wide range of topics, including an overview of the RA/TA system and regulations, an explanation of the newly introduced Progress Report, an introduction to the Graduate Student Bill of Rights, and an overview of the Graduate School Innovation Project.
Through this program, the university aimed to clarify administrative support related to assistantship duties, strengthen graduate students’ awareness of their rights and responsibilities, and promote autonomous and proactive academic and professional development.
According to a post event satisfaction survey, the overall satisfaction score reached 4.54 out of 5, indicating a high level of participant approval. Individual categories also received positive evaluations, including RA/TA systems and regulations (4.51), Progress Report (4.26), Graduate Student Bill of Rights (4.43), Graduate School Innovation Project (4.40), and newly introduced (4.06).
An official from the Graduate Research and Education Team stated, “We plan to make the RA/TA orientation a regular program to ensure that graduate students receive sufficient institutional support. We will continue to do our utmost to create an environment in which graduate students can lead their research and academic activities proactively.”
