From May 11 to June 4 Korea University Sejong Campus University Job Center operated the ‘2026 Future Career Roadmap Challenge’ program to support students’ self-directed career exploration and strengthen their career readiness. 

 

The program was conducted through the KUSEUM online platform and individual activities, with 70 undergraduate students participating. It was designed to help students analyze their career interests, establish clear career goals, and develop personalized future career roadmaps. 

 

The Future Career Roadmap Challenge is a co-curricular program that encourages participants to gain a deeper understanding of themselves through self-reflection while establishing step-by-step career goals and action plans. Beyond simply providing employment information, the program enabled students to independently develop phased growth plans, career and academic strategies, and job-specific competency roadmaps. 

 

The program consisted of five stages. In Stage 1, students analyzed their desired career fields and established specific employment goals. During Stage 2, participants completed four weeks of online lectures and practical exercises covering career planning for university life, science and engineering, natural sciences, and humanities and social sciences. 

 

In Stage 3, students refined their assignments through major-specific career counseling and expert feedback, improving the quality of their Future Career Roadmaps. In Stage 4, they completed personalized Future Career Roadmaps outlining future employment strategies and career milestones. 

 

In the final stage 5, outstanding roadmaps were selected based on the specificity, feasibility, logical consistency, originality, and authenticity of students’ self-directed career plans. Award recipients presented their roadmaps during the completion ceremony, providing an opportunity not only to share individual achievements but also to foster a stronger career development culture across campus. 

 

The program was particularly meaningful because it helped students transform vague career aspirations into concrete action plans. Through online lectures and individual activities, participants independently designed their career paths and developed practical roadmaps for future growth by incorporating expert feedback. 

 

One participant commented, “I had only vaguely thought about planning my future, but actually creating a roadmap helped me define my career direction much more clearly. Listening to other students’ presentations also allowed me to reflect on and improve my own plans.” 

 

A representative from the center said, “This program is meaningful because it helped students explore career paths based on a deeper understanding of themselves while establishing concrete goals and action plans. We will continue to expand customized career development and employment support programs to strengthen students’ future planning capabilities and career competitiveness.”
