Step-by-Step Career Planning Support from Self-Assessment to Goal Setting and Action Planning
All 87 Participants Complete Program Amid Expanded Interactive Group Activities and Practical Training

 

From May 19 to 28, the University Job Center at Korea University Sejong Campus operated the “KU! Career Light” program for first- and second-year students.

 

Organized as part of the University Innovation Support Project, the program was designed to help students explore career paths before beginning full-scale job preparation. It enabled participants to better understand their interests, personalities, and strengths while identifying career directions aligned with their academic majors.

 

The program consisted of five key components: self-assessment and interpretation, exploration of academic majors and career fields, career decision-making, career goal setting, and the development of step-by-step action plans. Through these activities, students were encouraged to establish career goals based on their individual competencies and interests while creating personalized career development plans for their university years.

 

A total of 87 students participated in the program and completed the course. Each section was conducted over two sessions totaling eight hours. Students engaged in self-discovery activities, including the Enneagram personality assessment, to better understand their personal characteristics and strengths. They then explored career opportunities related to their majors, clarified their individual career goals, and developed concrete action plans that included extracurricular activities, professional certifications, and work experience appropriate for each stage of their academic journey.

Reflecting feedback from previous participants, the University Job Center improved both the program schedule and curriculum. 

 

Moving beyond a lecture-based format, the program placed greater emphasis on student-led group activities and hands-on practice. Participants shared their career concerns and perspectives with peers while applying the results of their self-assessments to practical career planning.

 

The University Job Center will continue to provide customized career development and employment support programs tailored to students' academic years and levels of career readiness.
