A research team led by Professor Junseong Ahn of the Department of Control and Instrumentation Engineering at Korea University Sejong Campus won the Gold Award for Best Poster at the 8th International Conference on Advanced Electromaterials (ICAE 2025), held in Jeju from November 25 to 28.

 

ICAE is a leading international academic conference that brings together researchers from academia, industry, and research institutes worldwide to share the latest advances in electronic and electrical materials. The 2025 conference featured in-depth academic exchanges focusing on micro and nano-scale devices, sensors, systems, and convergent technologies integrating artificial intelligence and biotechnology.

 

The Gold Award recipient, Hakhyun Lim, a master’s student in the Department of Control and Instrumentation Engineering, was recognized for his poster presentation titled “Flexible and Soft Multi-Modal Sensors Enabled by Rapid Prototyping for Versatile Application.”

 

The study proposed a maskless fabrication process that utilizes easily accessible, lab-scale equipment to overcome the limitations of conventional physical sensor manufacturing methods. This approach significantly reduces dependence on costly cleanroom facilities while enabling large-area, low-cost production of multimodal sensors. The research was highly praised for its potential to expand human–machine interfaces (HMI) in human-centered environments.
