Graduate English Course Offered as a Substitute for the Foreign Language Examination
Sejong Campus
1. Eligibility: Current graduate students and students who have completed coursework (completion status) at Sejong Campus Graduate School
a. Students who complete the course and earn a grade of B or above (based on the General Graduate School standard) will be regarded as having passed the Foreign Language Examination, one of the requirements for eligibility to submit a master's or doctoral thesis.
b. As the passing requirements may vary by graduate school, applicants must confirm the applicable regulations with their respective Graduate School Administrative Office before registering for this course.
c. Graduate students affiliated with the Seoul Campus should verify with their respective Graduate School Administrative Office whether this course offered by the Sejong Campus is recognized as a substitute for the Foreign Language Examination.
2. Course Offered: English
▶ The course will be canceled if fewer than 12 students register.
3. Course Schedule
A. Course Period: June 23 (Tue) – July 30 (Thu), 2026 (6 weeks)
B. Class Days and Time: Every Tuesday and Thursday 1:00 PM – 5:00 PM (4 hours per class)
C. Instruction Format: Students may choose one of the following formats: Live Online Classes/Recorded Online Lectures
Please note that all examinations will be conducted in person.
4. Registration
A. Registration Period: June 2 (Tue), 2026, 9:00 AM – June 12 (Fri), 2026, 5:00 PM
B. Registration Procedure
: Complete the Course Registration Form (attached) and submit it via email (rcdog02@korea.ac.kr) to the Institute of General Education.
C. Important Notice
: Course registration and tuition payment will not be accepted outside the designated registration period.
5. Tuition Payment
A. Tuition Fee: 300,000 won
B. Bank Account: KEB Hana Bank 670-910018-42905, Korea University Sejong Campus
C. Important Notice: The depositor's name must be entered in the following format:
Student's Name + Last Three Digits of Student ID (Example: Kim Goryeo123)
6. Refund Policy
A. Refund Request Period: June 2 (Tue) – July 13 (Mon), 2026
(Refund requests submitted after this period will not be accepted.)
B. Refund Procedure: Complete the Refund Request Form (official form) and submit it via email (rcdog02@korea.ac.kr) to the Institute of General Education.
C. Refund Amount: Refunds will be processed according to the date the request is submitted.
▶ Before the first day of class (June 2-22): 100% refund
▶ Before one-third of the instructional period has elapsed (June 23-July 6): 2/3 of the tuition fee
▶Before one-half of the instructional period has elapsed (July 7-13): 1/2 of the tuition fee
7. Grade Processing
A. Institute of General Education: After the course ends, the instructor will submit grades (takes approximately one week) → the Institute of General Education will then forward the grades to each Graduate School (approximately two weeks after grade submission).
B. Grade Confirmation and Announcement of Successful Candidates: Please contact Sejong Campus Graduate Research and Education Team, or your department administrative office
▶ Students enrolled in graduate schools other than the General Graduate School should contact their respective Graduate School Administrative Office.
